How are you supposed to eat sushi?
Are you supposed to eat a piece of pickled ginger before each piece of sushi?
Well here in America, "suppose" to, doesn’t really matter. The ginger is used to cleanse the palate between bites of sushi. You do not need to do this, some find the taste of the pickled ginger disgusting, but it does help to freshed your taste buds for the new piece of sushi you are putting in your mouth. I LOVE SUSHI!!
In the USA, how ever you would like is fine. The sushi police will look the other way.

I actually don’t eat the ginger. I see some people eat a bit of it WITH each bite of sushi and a lot of people eat it in one bite with the entire piece of sushi.
I want sushi now=\

It depends on if you like ginger or not. If not there’s nothing that says you have to eat it. And if you like it a lot eat it with every piece and if you want eat a bit with every other piece.

I’ve heard that the ginger is included as a palate cleanser so that the taste of the last piece doesn’t intrude on the next, but I agree with the first response that if you want to eat your tuna, then salmon, then eel and not have the ginger then that’s perfectly fine.
