Should American food be blamed for making US one of the fattest countries?

9 out of top 10 fattest people in the world come from US.

And when I look at high calorie food that’s being sold in fast food outlets like Mc Donald’s and KFC, it makes me think that American food do make people grow in size.

I can’t think of other American food apart from what’s being sold there. Tell me if there are some healthy American dishes.

uh uh… not at all… people have the choice whether they wanna go buy things that are good for them like fruits and veggies or mcdonalds and kfc….

I dont blame american food at all… the food isnt forcing anyone to eat it…I mean you will never see a bucket of kfc holding someone hostage at gun point saying… " EAT MY CHICKEN OR ILL BLOW UR HEAD OFF!!!!!!"

you want healthy restaurant options? omg.. there are soooo many…you just have to look them up.. im always looking up places that have vegan foods…or something like that….

my fridge is stocked with veggies….i have things like oatmeal ( regular kind..not the quick packs…) i have almond milk in my freezer, cans of beans, and a few other canned essentials such as canned tomatoes for soups and stews…and spaghetti…i use whole grain spaghetti…i have fruit also… I had more at the beginning of the month…but fruit tends to go bad fast..so you either eat it..or it goes to waste… my supper is really simple…. cabbage, potatoes and fresh green beans ( bleh canned ones!)…with some spices…its basically just a simple soup…but I would say it is very nutritious..and I like the way it tastes.

my typical day…

breakfast… either alot of fruit…or oatmeal made with plain almond milk and something like chopped up apples and some cinnamon… or some other fruit,,, I dont even use sugar … the almodn milk gives it a rich creaminess and the fruit helps it to be sweet enough for me.

lunch maybe something like whole grain spaghetti with tomato sauce, some chopped up tomatoes and chopped garlic and salt and pepper

supper could be a nice big salad and im not picky with the veggies.. lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, mushroom, bell pepper of any color, celery, carrot, cabbage, spinach leaves if I have them, uhmm…. lesse.. ooh those awesome banana peppers in the jar…and i usually make my own dressing. im fine with vinegar and seasonings and maybe some mustard…i just like it simple like that…oh and a little salt.. …with seasoned lightly fried tofu…yummy

I also try to drink alot of water…though im still bad about that

as far as restaurants…. my usual pick is subway…normally the veggie delight salad or if im really hungry I will get bread but like wheat….

and there is this awesome little deli i like to go to once a month… its called Green Earth deli…and its inside this little shop… Green earth grocer… they make things vegan.. unless the menu says otherwise… seriously their vegan reuben is to DIE for! its sooo yummy! i go once a month because i have to take 2 buses to get there…and i can really only afford to go once a month…

I am fat and no i have not always been vegan… i use to go out and eat mcdonalds, kfc, ate fried chiken at home and mashies, and biscuits… hell iw as pretty much raised on foods like that ( note.. im from the midwest.) i didnt have much choice in what i ate growing up…

but i have the choice of how I wanna eat now…and yeah I still DO like those comfort foods…I just know how to make them for ME. i mean seriously… what I am eating now.. green beans and taters? are normally seasoned with bacon or fatback or hamhocks or something like that… I dont use those… sure mine aint gonna taste the same…but mine IS still good.

Why does traditional European-American food derive all its flavor from salt, fat and sugar?

Why are spices not a big component like they are in Indian, Mexican, and Chinese food?

I am not just criticizing American food, I am asking a question.

I think it has to do with where the food is from.

Indian, Mexican and Chinese food all are closer to the equator so they’re a longer growing season for spices and herbs to grow. However, Europe tends to have a shorter growing season.

Another thing is China and Indian are along the old world spice routes. Peppers, corn and tomatoes are from the "new world" so there’s a little more zing to Mexican cuisine.

Do you legally have to pay for and accept a takeaway food delivery if the restaurant was hours late?

I’m just curious. What if they were 3 hours late and the people had to get food from a different place? 4 hours? 5?

They would not be able to win a legal claim against you. In any transaction, there is implied suitability — for example, someone can’t sell you a swimsuit that falls apart in water, gift card for a restaurant chain that no longer exists, or food delivery that comes hours after it’s expected to.

Is there a way I can get food delivered to from a restaurant 6 and a half hour away from me?
This ‘From’ place is in Norcross, GA 30071 and ‘To’ place is in Cary, NC 27513. Total distance is 384 miles, around 6 hours of driving. Any such long distance food delivery service exist in GA?? The order will be for somewhere around $150.

I ordered a small cup of soup, 8 pieces of sushi and a large smoothie. The total came to $12.87 with tax and delivery fee. The store is about a mile away, but my car is in the shop and I have trouble walking, otherwise I’d pick it up myself..

When you order food online you can leave a tip with your order, so you don’t have to give cash directly. I was wondering if it’s better to leave the tip online or to give it directly, because of taxes or company polices.

Is it customary to tip the delivery guys in the states at all or is this more of a business trick to extract more money from customers?

Yes we tip them. I give cash rather than put it on my credit card as the credit card company gets a percentage of the total charged bill including the tip and, also, the delivery person may have to wait a while before they are paid the charged tip.
