Cesarean Birth (C-section) Delivery & Birth

http://www.nucleusinc.com This 3D medical animation shows the common indications for a cesarean delivery, including dystocia, placenta previa, fetal distress and multiple births. A cesarean section (c-section) surgery to deliver a baby in frank breech (feet first) position is also shown. During the procedure, the surgeon (usually an obstetrician/gynecologist, i.e. ob/gyn) makes an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus in order to deliver the baby.     Sad, so many C-sections are basically to have babies on the doctor’s schedule. Doc wants to have you have it during the day and most mothers don’t ask questions.

    Oh. thanks.. so they have to take it out? and its connected to the ambilical cord, right? oh.. so is that why they have to clip the ambilical cord before they cut it so that the blood wont flow out of the baby?

    Vernix is the white “goo” that covers the baby’s body. The placenta is the network of vessels that connects the baby to the mom’s blood supply.

    cool :) i mean your mom’s cool and that surgeon your talking about.. it’s almost unbelievable for an obgyn surgeon the even make a mistake like that! that’s terrible :(

    my mom was in so much pain and couldnt push anymore, so i was born this way. its quite common.

    I was born normally but had the umbilical chord round my neck too and wasn’t crying. So they gave me some oxygen and then I screamed my lungs out.

    That’s what happened with me when I was a baby. The cord was wrapped around my neck. When I came out my mom said she started crying because I was the color beige/deep blue and I wasn’t breathing. But I’m breathing now!

    she told me about a doctor who cut off baby’s face during a cesarean section and was sued for $ 50,000

    I mean … that was not a good OB / GYN surgeon, because that doctor with many years of experience makes a mistake of that magnitude, that’s well…inconceivable
