I have a dinner date tomorrow. Hes cooking Italian, and I’m brining wine. But, what kind of wine should I bring? I’ve honestly haven’t had much wine. So don’t know much about it.
Any suggestions?
Depends on the dish but at the end of the day you gotta drink it so buy what you like.
You can’t please all the people all the time so why bother?
I had this amazing spaghetti made by an old friends italian grandmother. It had pork, chicken, and beef with spaghetti. Does anyone know this recipe? I would love to make it for my fiance. Please help!!!
I had a recipe like this one, but there are many different versions of this dish.
I just take my pork, chicken, and beef chunks and cook the outsides of the meat in a pan with oil to get a good crust, but don’t cook it through. Just about 5 minutes on each side.
Then I take the meats out and they just wait off on a plate.
A take a sauce pot and make my sauce (mine has oregano, basil, salt & pepper, crushed tomato, a sprinkle of sugar, canned tomato sauce OR rague, and water.) I give this a stir and bring to a boil, then I turn it on low and add in my meats. They braze for about an hour on low (check internal temp. with a thermometer) and then take the meat out onto a plate again. Pull apart with forks. Add back into sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
I serve over linguine.

I am taking the girlfriend out to eat in downtown Fort Worth and she loves Italian, but I have very little experience dining in downtown Fort Worth and would like some input on good places to eat. I would like to see suggestions that are romantic and relatively cheap (under 25 bucks a head). I am also interested in any good Italian restaurants off University or Camp Bowie or in the south Fort Worth area.

Why do we smoother everything in tomato sauce here and call it Italian? It all tastes the same. Where is the subtlety, the complexity you get in the cooking in Italy? Even something as simple and delicious as pizza – we make it into this doughy thing, topped with cheap cheese. Why must we make all our food as if we are cooking for children?
This question was not posed to dis American food. I think American food is great but more on a regional, local level.
To be honest with any other culture than american , the food is adjusted to satisfy the american society. The foods rarely taste like the original culture that is is copied from
What are you favourite Italian food products have you purchased in Italy whlist holidaying or living there, that you can’t buy in the U.K?
Eg. Pasta, Wine, Chocolate, Snacks etc. anything really
Appreciate any feedback
You can buy Limoncello at most large Supermarkets in the UK. Or some of the better Drinks chains.
The best thing I bought in Italy and I have never seen in the Uk has been my Electric Past Machine, saves so much time in rolling out the dough, I make the dough in my UK Bread machine so it is all so quick. I also bought attachments that allow me to make Spaghetti, Linguine, Ravioli and lots of other pastas, and there is nothing better than fresh pasta
For about the same price as I’ve had elsewhere (Europe, Far East) the food has always been indifferent (badly cooked, lack of choice ect., and this is all over the country). I really love Italy for every other aspect but if I wanted a cheap and cheerful pasta or pizza meal I wouldn’t choose Italy.
who said so?

My ex-boyfriend’s father used to make it and I have been looking for the recipe since 2003. I am almost to the point where I would call him to ask, but our break-up was not all that amicable. It is really greasy and fried in a pan. It had what I assume was an Italian name.
Perhaps it is called POLPETTONE..it looks like meetballs, full of cheese , prosciutto (=HAM),sometimes eggs, tomato sauce..Was that meal made in this way? (i’m sorry,my english is not so good..)bye!!
