Breakfast: Matty Goes Bald For A Cause

Breakfast reporter Matty McLean’s head is among 96 others feeling the chill at the moment, after he went bald to raise money for charity.

Matty had his head shaved mid-air as part of Shave for a Cure 2010, the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation’s signature fundraising event yesterday.

The airline yesterday shouted anyone willing to shave their heads for charity a free flight from Auckland to Queenstown for the Winter Festival.

Matty admits he was fairly nervous before the big shave, his first reaction being, “I look awful.”

However since then he has come to terms with his new look and admits now that “it’s not too bad”.

Passengers and crew members all took part in raising more than $75,000 for the cause.

To pledge money towards Matty’s fundraising haircut, head to Shave for a Cure.

Hi, I am 16 years old and i weight 250lbs. I am going to start exercising tomorrow and I really have no idea what kind of food to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I will be walking/jogging the treadmill in the morning and i am also planning on doing it sometime at night also. If you guys can give me a list of what to eat/drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, then I would appreciate it. Oh and also what kind of fruit should i eat? Do any fruits make you gain weight also? Thanks!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with raspberries and blueberries, or an egg white omelet with spinach and mushrooms. Orange juice is alright sparingly, but it has a lot of sugars and should only be had in an 8 oz. glass once a day.

Lunch: A salad with leafy greens (such as spinach) rather than lettuce, with skinless, grilled chicken.

Dinner: A lean meat, such as fish, with at least two types of steamed veggies.

For snacks, you can try nuts, yogurt, and fruits such as strawberries, apples, and apricots. Exotic fruits like pineapple and mango are high in sugar and should be eaten sparingly.

Try to revolve all of your meals around vegetables instead of meat, and avoid too much bread and pasta.
