What kind of breakfast is stomach friendly?

February 262010

Well, this is sort of embarrassing
but every morning at school I have horrible gas. For breakfast I have a breakfast burrito with eggs, turkey sausage, cheese, and a flour tortilla.
I need a breakfast that is quick to make, not too heavy, and satisfying.
Thanks much!
other than cereal… thanks though!
oh yes, and I get hungry really quickly and easily… so a satisfying meal is the best.

Smoothies are quick, you can eat em on the go and they’re stomach friendly(: My favorite smoothie is…
1/2 c. frozen strawberries
1/2 c. plain yogurt
1/4-1/2 c. milk (I use soy milk)
1 T. honey
and if you like em thick…1 frozen banana

I also like banana peanut butter sandwiches

Maybe you should try yogurt. Some other easy quick things would be like toast – can do peanut butter toast, just spread peanut butter over hot toasted bread, really yummy! oatmeal, cereal…

Well, eggs, sausage (of any kind) and cheese are known to cause gas, so avoid these! Pancakes, waffles, toast, peanut butter, jelly, fruits, yogurt, and cereals are great. Just avoid those three foods (or at least limit the amount of them that you eat) and you should be fine. But also be careful with foods that are high in fiber, dried fruits, and anything super-processed as they can also cause gas. Good luck.

Nuts are also very filling and good for you, I am in college and super-busy so often just grab a handful of some type of nut mix and a latte for breakfast and stay super-full and gas-free.

Key word to me is satisfying!
try egg whites, minus the sausage and cheese,
bacon is easier for me than sausage- (drain the grease even with a paper towel to really blot out the excess oil),
    don’t butter the bread either

Well you have included 3 of the biggest culprits for not only gas but stinky gas. These three ingredients are eggs, beans, and sausage. Cheese doesn’t help.

    So instead try:

Pancakes or waffles with bacon or ham and some fresh fruit. Also using whole wheat or whole grain will help you feel full longer.

Cottage Cheese and apple sauce-peaches-or pinapple.

Oatmeal with nuts and dreid nuts cinnamon and a sprinkle of brown sugar.

Cereal-not the super yummy sugary ones, but things like shredded wheat, and so on.

I also like toast with apple sauce and cheese melted on top, not a lot just a sprinkle.

Or mix up 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegariarette, and 2 tbsp mircale whip or mayo. Spread on one side of a slice of whole grain bread. Lay the bread down miracle whip side down in a hot skillet. Add a couple slices of turkey, sliced fresh pear and a slice or chedder cheese. Let the bread brown and the cheese melt. It really only takes 5 minutes or less.

Or there is nothing to say you can have a sandich for breakfast. Do a crossiant, it feels more like breakfast, 1 slice of cheese, a slice of tomato and what ever other veggies you like and some lunch meat.

English muffins with peanut butter and fresh fruit.

    Yougurt with granola.

Bagels with cream cheese and fresh fruit, or a sandwich like I said before but f course with the bagel for the bread.

Seeing the post about smoothies made me think. This is a drink/smoothie that I make for my kids and I. It is very filling and on the healthy side. But can be more unhealthy depending on what you add to it.

I place one banana broken up a bit into the blender. Add a splash of milk and process until pretty smooth. Then I add a drop of honey, a heaping spoon full of peanut butter, and more milk. Some times I even add a bit of cocolate sauce (that the bad part). I precess until smooth.

One glass and I am sooo full for hours. The protien in the peanut butter and milk make you feel ful and the bananas makes it smooth like a dessert type thing.
