What are some Japanese breakfast dishes that you can prepare?
I heard that Japanese food is good for you and since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I’d like to know what are some dishes that I can make.
It doesn’t seem to be many simple interesting sites. You can probably find better sites in Japanese, but I suppose that wouldn’t help. Miso soup, thick omelet with dashi(atsuyaki-tamago). You can have many kinds of miso soup by putting in different ingredients.
Here’s one site I found.
And a book that I have which is called "Japanese Homestyle Cooking." You can find that book on Amazon.
rice, miso soup and side dishes – including grilled fish, egg omelet, salad, etc. you can get miso paste in the grocery store – it’s soy and really high in protein. a good warmer in the winter!

If you really want to start the day right, there is nothing better than steamed rice, a seaweed garnish, and notto.
Notto is a fermented soya bean product, like baked beans in a sticky goo, but there high in protein and will get you moving, literally to start your day. Most Japanese stores sell them in a metal pouch, try them once and you will be hooked, I had them every day in japan at the Inn I stayed at, and wish I could find them in abudance here, I have to go to Toronto to find them.
