What should you avoid for lunch the most, Fried foods or Chinese food?

February 282010

Obviously the fried fast foods are bad for you but I hear that the oils and fats in chinese food pack upwards of 900 calories and isn’t the rice and lo mein noodles loaded with carbs?
So which one is worse for you if you want to grab something fast and good for lunch?

My doctor says the three biggest food killers American’s eat are:
1. Fried Chicken
2. Potato Chips
3. French Fries

So I would say your best bet is to get some chinese food, but avoid any dish that contains breaded fried chicken.

Why is Italian food in Italy so disappointing?

February 282010

For about the same price as I’ve had elsewhere (Europe, Far East) the food has always been indifferent (badly cooked, lack of choice ect., and this is all over the country). I really love Italy for every other aspect but if I wanted a cheap and cheerful pasta or pizza meal I wouldn’t choose Italy.

who said so?
the food u try there is the real italian food
maybe u hav heard something else bout italian food
or maybe u r not used 2 tat food

How do I make sure the nori in my sushi doesn’t get moist and bad tasting when making sushi?

Recently, I’ve been making sushi and the only problem is when I add the rice and filling onto the nori, the nori gets very soggy and not at all tasty. What can I do to stop this?
The rice is chilled to about room temperature. And if the rice is too wet, what can I do to prevent this?

maybe rice was too wet.or was still too hot.

after rice has cooked.add sugar, salt, vinegar what ever thing you add.
you need to let rice cool a bit.

traditionally
(I don’t know how many people actuary doing this at house these days)
using hand fan( uchiwa) & stir rice to cool it down.

well ’stir’ isn’t right word.
like adding fluffed egg white in to base to make souffle move.

if rice is not the problem, nori it self is not fresh.
once open package, nori looses their freshness very quickly.
maybe you can toast nori before use.
so it will be crispy.

What do you eat for breakfast? How can I spice up my breakfast from the old typical eggs, cereal, oatmeal?

Every week day I eat breakfast, I have about 45 minutes for it. Lately it’s just a orign cycle to eat, cereal one day, eggs the next, oatmeal another day, fruits everyday, etc. I just wanted to know if anyone has any new idea for breakfast or something to change this monotonous cycle of breakfast.

Well I dice up half a tomato, use about 1 tbs of olive oil, heat it up, add the tomato, with a little onion powder, cook it for about 5-7 minutes, results are suited to your personal taste.

Then I either add eggs and scramble them together with the tomato and heat up three flour tortillas and make egg tacos

or

I easy over eggs then pour the tomatoes over the eggs then eat them with the tortillas…I love to break the yolk and mix the tomato directly into it…

man I just got hungry…I think I’ll go make some right now!

later and good eatin’

Our Bistro tabletop (marble) broke, does ANYONE have an idea where we can find a top?

Any color, real marble prefered!

Go to a solid surface shop that makes counter tops. They should be able to make or order a suitable top.

What’s the difference between certified mail and delivery confirmation?

I mailed something out today and was meaning to grab a delivery confirmation slip, but I guess I grabbed the certified slip instead. Does certified mail act the same as delivery confirmation–track orders and let me know when the package has arrived? Thanks!!

Certified mail generally requests a signature from the receiver. Delivery receipt simply provides confirmation that the item has been delivered. You may want to go to usps.com for further clarification, which is the United States Postal Service website.

Attention San Antonians! How’d you feel about a Food Delivery Bus. that delivers hot fresh food to your house?

February 282010

For a nominal fee, either $6.00 or 15% (whichever is less) of the total (plus tips) , food from one of 20 different local restaurants within our network could be delivered to your home or office with any purchase of $15.00 or more, OR from any restaurant in town for $10.00 or 20% (whichever is less). No more ordering a pizza, just because no one wants to cook! No more burgers or fried chicken because their all that’s easily available. I can deliver between 10:00am and 9:00pm, 7 days a week. Of course delivery times will vary, but logistically, I should be able to deliver most meals in 45 minutes to 1 hour. Would you use such a service? How do you feel about the pricing? What have i forgotten to address? Any additional suggestions?

I think you need to work on your pitch, and have easier pricing. That’s really confusing.

Basically you’re a delivery service, so you’re outsourcing something businesses already do. That’s actually not bad.

What you may want to consider is trying to get a fleet and the network of businesses, then get the businesses to charge on their bill for delivery, and you get that fee from them, not from the customer. Then your customer is the businesses, and you’re offering the delivery service for them. No dealing with messy financials from hundreds or thousands of customers, no fiddling with change, you just deal with the restaurants in a certain radius.

This could actually be really good for businesses that cannot afford to hire their own driver, so they then aren’t able to deliver, you could free them of that.

It’s a brilliant idea, I just think that instead of appealing to the public, you should appeal to the businesses. Even if you start small, if you have a good area that has a number of small business restaurants you should do well. Plus they can pay the advertising, and you just get paid for delivery.

So just change your target customer, think of the businesses as your customers, not the public at large.

How do sushi restaurants get their sushi inland and still keep it fresh?

February 262010

I’m from California and I’m in New Mexico right now. I seen a sushi restaurant out here; I was wondering how do places like these keep sushi fresh? Do they ship the fish alive? I heard you are not supposed to freeze sushi grade fish, so how do they do it?

It’s frozen of course. Why bother with that crap when local fish is much better.

What kind of breakfast is stomach friendly?

February 262010

Well, this is sort of embarrassing
but every morning at school I have horrible gas. For breakfast I have a breakfast burrito with eggs, turkey sausage, cheese, and a flour tortilla.
I need a breakfast that is quick to make, not too heavy, and satisfying.
Thanks much!
other than cereal… thanks though!
oh yes, and I get hungry really quickly and easily… so a satisfying meal is the best.

Smoothies are quick, you can eat em on the go and they’re stomach friendly(: My favorite smoothie is…
1/2 c. frozen strawberries
1/2 c. plain yogurt
1/4-1/2 c. milk (I use soy milk)
1 T. honey
and if you like em thick…1 frozen banana

I also like banana peanut butter sandwiches

can someone tell me where i can find chef(bistro) home decor?

Wal-Mart! They have cute French chef motif paintings, dish towels and rugs. Not pricey at all.
